The Importance of Mother's Day
Bridget B. here to let you know that I'm set to host the next edition of Bread & Roses on KBOO 90.7FM, Friday, May 8, 2o09 from 6pm - 7pm.
Given that this show falls right before Mother's Day, I'd like to bring to your attention the what, why, when and by whom Mother's Day was conceived, what it has become over time and what you can do to re-direct this day back towards its original meaning.
During this one hour show, I'll share with you the "Mother's Day Proclamation", as recited by some famous female actors and activists, I'll include some Mother's Day stories and call your attention to organizations like CodePink that are making a difference as it relates to feminism, Mother's Day and the national agenda.
You can join the conversation when I open the phone lines to hear from you, our Bread and Roses listeners, as you tell us what Mother's Day means to you this Friday, May 8, 2009 on KBOO 90.7FM from 6pm - 7pm.
